Baze is a highly skilled golf instructor who found his calling in an unconventional way. After an honorable stint in the Marine Corps, Baze faced the challenge of reintegrating into civilian life. His search for purpose led him to golf, a game he quickly fell in love with and decided to turn into a career.

His professional journey took him to Carlsbad, California, where he attended the Golf Academy of America. Although the academy closed during his enrollment, Baze saw this as an opportunity rather than a setback. He took a part-time role at the Carlsbad Golf Center, learning the ropes from some of the most seasoned professionals in the industry.

Today, Baze holds multiple certifications, including David Leadbetter Level 2 and David Leadbetter Kids. He is also fitting-certified by leading golf brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Titleist, and many others.

Baze’s passion for golf isn’t merely a personal obsession; it’s a transformative experience he wishes to share. His teaching philosophy extends beyond the technicalities of the game. Baze aims to help others find a similar sense of purpose and centeredness that he found, underscoring golf’s broader life lessons.

With his unique background, hands-on experience, and a multitude of certifications, Baze isn’t just another golf instructor; he is a mentor who uses the game of golf as a vehicle for positive change.

Travis Boerner is a dedicated instructor at CaliGolf, bringing over 25 years of experience and a deep love for the game. A PGA of America member since 2021, he has spent over a decade coaching golfers of all skill levels, helping them navigate the challenges and joys that make golf so rewarding. His career includes time at prestigious locations like Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club and The Kingdom, where he honed his skills as both an instructor and a Master Fitter.

Travis’s expertise in both club tting and coaching allows him to provide a truly personalized approach to instruction. He focuses on making improvements specic to each golfer’s needs while ensuring the game remains fun and engaging. Using TrackMan data, he helps players track measurable progress, rening their swings and optimizing performance.

Tommy Stephenson brings a powerful combination of elite playing ability, equipment expertise, and a student-centered coaching style to CaliGolf. As a former top-15 NCAA Division I golfer and winner of multiple high-level events, Tommy understands what it takes to play at the highest level. He coached himself through a standout junior and collegiate career, peaking as the #7 player in PGA Tour U while competing at schools like Fresno State. Today, he plays to a +5 handicap and brings that same competitive insight into every lesson he teaches.

Tommy’s background also includes extensive knowledge in club fitting and building, making him uniquely skilled at helping students optimize both their swing and equipment. He specializes in short game instruction, where his students often see major breakthroughs within just a few lessons. Tommy adapts to each student’s goals—whether they’re looking for fast results or long-term game improvement—and offers coaching that’s both highly technical and easy to understand.
